Twin Day

Written by: Cindy

Hey, Gators! This upcoming Monday, on April 27th, we will be having another spirit day: Twin Day! Be sure to find a friend and wear matching coloursor even attempt to match your entire class! Your shirt and pants must match; it doesn't have to be exact, but try to make it as accurate as possible. Remember, this is a Spirit Day, so Spirit Points will be counted! The class with the highest Spirit Points at the very end of the year wins a prizeso team up with your friends, link arms, and find that shirt you've always seen everybody wearing, because you’re going to need it.

Do keep in mind, though, that Gator Shirts don’t count. Sorry!

Officer Jen Visits Greensborough

Internet Safety

Written by: Cindy

Internet safety. A topic that has gradually become more important over the past decade or so, especially for teenagers. Now, it is something everyone of all ages should know about. Internet safety explains how to protect yourself online while on various social medias such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat.

On Tuesday, April 7th, the students at Greensborough had an officer from the police force come in and talk to them about the dangers of social media. Her name was officer Jen. Officer Jen covered a wide variety of topics about online safety--from stranger danger, to ways to protect yourself. It’s always good for people to be reminded of these things, including the intermediate grades who have learned them many times. Officer Jen was easygoing, and answered several questions asked by the teens. We learned that everything you do is ingrained into the internet permanently, no matter how many times you delete it, and how Snapchat isn’t entirely safe after all.

The intermediate grades enjoyed talking to her, and those small reminders about internet safety will do us well in the end. We hope to see her again next year, for the new intermediate grades.

Wacky Hair Day

Written by: Achal and Jessica

Hi Gators! On April 15th, we will be having another spirit day! Get your hairbrushes, hair ties and hair dyes ready, because next week is Wacky Hair Day! For one day of the week, you don’t have to brush your hair in the morning or put on that morning gel, because the point of Wacky Hair Day is to make your hairdo look as RIDICULOUS as possible! Remember, that the class with the most spirit points at the end of the year will receive a prize! So mess up your hair or just come to school in your bed head for Wacky Hair Day!

Trio Musica

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, Greensborough Public School was the site of Trio Musica. Trio Musica was started 11 years ago by the music teachers from Greensborough P.S., Lincoln Alexander P.S and Unionville Meadows P.S. and it is still going strong.  On February 12, the music students from the three schools got together for the day and had the opportunity to attend a series of workshops and band practices. The sessions were run by Robert Mee, a Trio Musica Clinician and the schools’ Music teachers; Mr. Burrell, Mrs. Arcand and Ms. So.  During the evening the students put on a concert for all to come and see. It was fantastic, so if you missed it this year, please join us next year. A big thank you goes out to all involved!
